On August 25th, 2024, after bravely fighting a long illness. He leaves behind his wife Royalyn of Chicago, his daughters Rachel Waddington of Massachussets, Emily (Daniel Kearney) Waddington of California, his grandaughter Marlo Eve Kearney and his sister Belle Freedgood, nephew Benjamin Freedgood, and niece Sarah Freedgood.

He was an exceptionally interesting and smart guy. He had a B.S. in chemistry and a M.B.A., but was also intensely interested in music, art, automobiles, motorcycles and politics. He had a great sense of humor with a taste for the absurd. He treasured his friends, many from college, others from childhood, who remained lifelong compatriots. He absolutely adored his wife.

He is reunited with his faithful golden retriever, Mel, for a long walk while enjoying a Macanudo.

His body has been cremated, and his soul is finally at peace.
