Gary F. Ault

Gary F. Ault, age 72, passed away on August 21, 2026, in Evanston, Illinois.

He was born on April 6, 1954, in Chicago, Illinois, and remained closely connected to the city throughout his life.

Gary attended Lane Tech High School, where he was known as a very smart student. He played both football and hockey and enjoyed being active during his school years.

Gary enjoyed many simple pleasures that brought him happiness throughout his life. He liked going to the movies, riding the bus around Chicago, and eating at McDonald’s. He especially enjoyed snacking on popcorn and pretzels and drinking Coke. Some of the times he treasured most were Thanksgiving and Christmas Day spent with his Uncle Wayne and Aunt Linda.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Ault; his father, Gene Ault; his grandparents, Florence and Edward Gorski; his uncles, Edward Gorski, Kenneth Gorski, and Wayne Gorski Sr.; and his aunt and uncle, Raymond and Alice Gorski.

Gary is remembered by his cousins Tiffany Christiano, Wayne Gorski Jr., Leah Rivas, Amber Gorski, Norean Gorski Mitchell, Ray Gorski, Scott and Linda Gorski; and his aunt, Linda Gorski. He also leaves many other cousins and second cousins who will remember him fondly.

Gary never had children of his own, and many members of his family passed before him. The time he shared with those who remained close to him was therefore especially meaningful, creating memories that will be cherished.

Gary was a special person who will be deeply missed by those who knew him. He left behind many wonderful memories, and his life will be remembered with love and affection.

Gary will be cremated and laid to rest with his mother. A small, private family memorial will be held in his honor.
