It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Fred Markovich, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and respected member of his community, who left us peacefully on December 15, 2024, at the age of 89. Preceeded in death by the love of his life, Violet. Born in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, on December 1, 1935, Fred's life was one of dedication, service, and an enduring love for his family and adopted country.
Fred emigrated to the United States in his youth, where he proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1964. His military service shaped much of his character, instilling in him a lifelong sense of discipline, duty, and patriotism that guided him in all aspects of his life.
After his time in the military, Fred embarked on a successful career in the paralegal field, working with dedication and professionalism for the entirety of his career. He became a respected figure in the legal community, known for his expertise, commitment, and unwavering integrity. His contributions to the field of law were vast, and his influence will be felt for many years to come.
Fred also made a lasting impact in the world of television. As the anchor of the popular "Bit of Yugoslavia" television show, he brought cultural insights and thoughtful commentary to American audiences. He later ran the "Panorama" TV show, continuing to engage viewers with his charisma and knowledge. His work in television reflected his passion for bridging cultures and sharing stories that brought people together.
Fred will be dearly missed, but his memory and the lessons he imparted will live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones. May he rest in peace.
