Obituary

Elie Elhakim, age 67, of Country Club Hills, Illinois, left this world on June 18, 2026. He was born on October 5, 1958, in Zahle, Lebanon, and lived a life marked by hard work, devotion to family, and a generous spirit that touched all who knew him.

Elie carried with him the values of his Lebanese upbringing throughout his life. He was a Christian man whose faith helped guide him through both joyful seasons and difficult ones. He was known for his steady presence, his warm heart, and the quiet strength he brought to every part of his life. Those who knew him best will remember him as a loving, generous, and intelligent man who approached life with humility and determination.

He built a respected life through his work as a general contractor, a skilled tailor, and an entrepreneur. Elie was truly a jack of all trades, and he took pride in being able to solve problems, build with his hands, and create something lasting from hard work and dedication. His talents were many, and he used them not only to provide for his family, but also to help others whenever he could. He was someone people could count on, whether they needed a repair, a thoughtful conversation, or simply a steady hand.

Elie continued to learn through experience, developing the practical knowledge and craftsmanship that became hallmarks of his life. He believed in doing things the right way and never hesitated to put in the effort needed to achieve a job well done.

Above all else, Elie was a family man. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wafah Elhakim. He is survived by his children, Antonio Elhakim, Bernadette Elhakim, and Michael Elhakim, who were a source of great pride and joy in his life. He also leaves behind cherished memories of his late mother, Bernadette Elhakim, and his late father, Chafic Elhakim, his siblings Marlene, Georges, Pierre and Fadi. His family will forever remember his love, his guidance, and the example he set through his actions.

Elie enjoyed the simple pleasures of life and found happiness in the moments spent with the people he loved most. He had a deep appreciation for hunting, cooking, and barbecue, and he especially valued time spent with family and friends. These moments reflected the kind of man he was, one who found meaning in togetherness, good food, laughter, and shared memories. His home and gatherings were made brighter by his presence, and his loved ones will carry forward the warmth he brought into every room.

Elie Elhakim will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his devotion to those he loved, and the many ways he enriched the lives of others. He lived with purpose, kindness, and integrity, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and perseverance. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will remain a blessing to his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
