Dorothy, a graduate of Lew Wallace High School class of 1971 in Gary, Indiana, was known for her infectious smile and her ability to make everyone she met feel like family. Her career was as diverse as her interests, having worked as a bank teller, a luggage saleswoman, a bartender, a capacitor salesperson, and retired after having a liver transplant in 2005. Her work ethic and engaging personality left a lasting impression on everyone she worked with, and she was cherished by colleagues across her varied professions.
A lover of 60s and 70s Rock and Roll, Dorothy's youthful spirit never faded. Her passion for music was only matched by her love for nature and gardening. Dorothy's garden was a vibrant tapestry of colors that reflected the care and attention she devoted to every aspect of her life. Her home was a sanctuary for friends and family, who were always greeted by the aroma of fresh flowers and the sound of classic tunes.
Dorothy's love for her family was the cornerstone of her life. Her mother was Jean Wiggins and her father was Terry Wiggins. She is survived by her beloved son, Bruce Kumorek, her sister, Susan Frayer, her brother, William Wiggins, her beloved nephew Clint Wiggins, as well as numerous other cousins, an aunt, nieces, and nephews. The bond she shared with each of them was unique and deep-rooted, forged through shared experiences and unwavering support. Her love and laughter will continue to resonate in their hearts and the hearts of all who knew her.
