Doris Alexander, a beacon of grace and gentleness, passed away peacefully of natural causes on December 4, 2023, at the age of 93, in her lifelong home Chicago, IL. Born on July 26, 1930, to the late William and Lillie Mae Alexander. Doris was the cherished youngest of her vibrant family circle that included her elder siblings William (Plocky), Cleveland (Bubba), Jean, and Hazel, all of whom predeceased her, except for her beloved eldest sister, Edith Ransom and her brother-in-law, Willie Ransom. Doris was a loving mother to her children, Cornell (deceased), and finding joy and pride in Shelton and June Alexander.
Doris, a lifelong resident of Chicago, was a proud graduate of the city's public schools, where she established the foundation for her commendable work ethic. During her working life, she was known for her dedication and reliability in her professional endeavors, earning the respect of colleagues.
Her elegance and poise were evident to all who knew her. Doris took great pride in her appearance, and her exquisite taste in attire, hair, and makeup never went unnoticed. Known for her quiet and soft-spoken nature, she navigated the world with a gentle demeanor that endeared her to many.
Doris's passion for roller skating was well known among her family. Her grace on the rink was a sight to behold, and her love for the sport brought her much joy. She also cherished the simple pleasure of attending movies, where she could immerse herself in the stories and characters on the screen.
