Obituary

Debra A. DePan, known affectionately to friends and family as Debbie, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 23, 1955, in Chicago, IL, Debbie's zest for life and her infectious spirit were evident from her earliest days.

Debbie graduated from high school with a bright mind and an even brighter smile, which she carried into her roles as a dedicated mother, a skilled collections agent, and a meticulous insurance auditor. Her work ethic and commitment to her profession were matched only by her devotion to her family. She was the loving mother of Christopher DePan, who inherited her strength and kindness.

Debbie was preceded in death by her father, Walter Zuleger, and her mother, Marilynn Zuleger. She is survived by her beloved son, Christopher. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she nurtured the bonds with her loved ones with the same passion she applied to every endeavor.

Debbie's interests were as unique and spirited as she was. A true Chicagoan at heart, she loved her Chicago Bears with unwavering passion. She found joy in watching Goldberg from WCW Wrestling with her son and could often be found reminiscing over old movies, reliving the classic tales and timeless performances. Debbie's routines were cherished rituals that brought structure and happiness to her life.

Those who knew Debbie would describe her as loving, spirited, and wise. Her love was a comforting embrace to those fortunate enough to receive it. Her spirit was an inspiring force that encouraged others to live with joy and authenticity. Her wisdom was a guiding light, offering insight and perspective in times of uncertainty.

Debbie's legacy is one of love, laughter, and the power of perseverance. As we remember her, we celebrate the remarkable life she led and the countless lives she touched. Debbie's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who loved her, and her spirit will continue to shine brightly as a testament to a life well-lived.
