Obituary

Cynthia Lynn Lowther, affectionately known as Cindy to her friends and family, passed away peacefully, on May 4, 2025, in Chicago, Illinois, at the age of 64, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 20, 1960, in Hollywood, Florida, to the late Colin Tynan and Mary Degeneffe. Cindy was the beloved wife of William Lowther, lovingly referred to as Bill, and the cherished mother of Connor Lowther. She was preceded in death by her brother, Craig Ward, and is survived by her brother, Scott Ward, her sister Melissa Ward Puzon (Michael Puzon), and many adoring nieces and nephews.

Cindy's education at Florida Atlantic University, where she studied Fines Arts & photography, served as the foundation for her remarkable ability to capture life's moments with her lens. As a freelance photographer, she was revered for her unique talent to seize the magic of the moment, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Cindy's artistic nature extended beyond her photography; she was a connoisseur of the arts, often found reveling in the beauty of a concert, art festival, or local craft show.

In addition to her love for the arts, Cindy had a successful career in retail management. Those who worked with Cindy knew her as a problem solver who led with grace and patience. Her empathy for others was a beacon of light in the workplace, and her guidance was always delivered with a gentle hand a warm smile.

Above all, Cindy's role as a wife and mother was where she shone the brightest. She found the perfect balance between protection and encouragement, nurturing her family with a selfless love that knew no bounds. Being a mom wasn't just a role for Cindy-it was her purpose, her joy, and her greatest accomplishment.

Cindy's Christian faith was a guiding force throughout her life, providing her with strength and comfort. Her selfless nature was also evident in her passionate advocacy for animals. An animal lover through and through, Cindy provided a loving home to numerous rescued pets and found forever homes for many others. She dedicated countless hours to controlling the feral cat population and was a guardian angel to many animals throughout her lifetime.

Those who knew Cindy would describe her as selfless, loving, and generous. Her presence was a gift to all who had the pleasure of knowing her, and her legacy of kindness, compassion, and artistic spirit will continue to inspire those she left behind.

Cindy's life was a testament to the beauty of human connection, the power of a mother's love, and the impact of a life lived with purpose and passion. As we say goodbye to Cynthia Lynn Lowther, we celebrate the remarkable woman she was and the indelible mark she has left on the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were touched by her grace.
