Obituary

Cynthia Ella Inch, a cherished sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep on January 5, 2024, at the age of 58 in Chicago, IL. Born on October 26, 1965, in Saugatuck, MI, Cynthia lived a life marked by her love for her family, and her boundless generosity.

Cynthia was the beloved daughter of the late Joyce Ann MacPhail) Inch and James Inch. She grew up alongside her brother Brett Inch and sister Jennifer (Inch) Kalman and brother in law Kyle Kalman, forming a close-knit family that celebrated every triumph and supported each other through every challenge. She was known as the favorite aunt (and will always be the favorite Aunt) to her nephew, Jack Kalman and niece, Megan Kalman, who will remember her as the aunt who delighted in spoiling them and being an integral part of their lives.

In her professional life, Cynthia was a respected businesswoman and the proud owner of Cynthia Inch, Inc., a building permit expeditor business based in Chicago. Her dedication to her work and her clients was evident in the lasting relationships she built and the success of her company.

Cynthia's interests were as varied as they were passionate. She had a love for travel, making it a tradition to visit London annually, where she would immerse herself in the city's history and culture and enjoying time with the "cousins" Bill and Sharon Bingham.

An animal lover at heart, Cynthia opened her home to foster animals each year, providing care and affection to those in need. Her compassion for animals was just one aspect of her nurturing personality, which was also evident in the way she cared for the people in her life.

Cynthia's family extended beyond her immediate relatives to include her cousins, Michelle, Frank, Abbey and Hailey Bruno and Lori MacPhail, her Uncle George MacPhail, and cousins Rochelle Bosy, Rebecca Johnston and Drew Maloof. Along with her two lifelong best friends, Darcy Schreckengust and Kathy Fitzpatrick. They, along with many others, will remember Cynthia's warmth, her laughter, and the way she made each family gathering a memorable event.

As we remember Cynthia, we are reminded of the impact one person can have on so many lives. She was a source of strength, inspiration, and unconditional love especially to Jack and Megan. Her absence will be deeply felt by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
