Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Cornelio Guillermo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us at the age of 79, surrounded by the love of his family. Cornelio departed in peace, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to those he held dear.

Born on September 16, 1946, in Guatemala to parents Oscar and Juana Guillermo, Cornelio was a man of quiet strength and gentle spirit who deeply touched the lives of all who knew him. To the outside world, he may have seemed reserved, but to his family, he was a giant, a steadfast pillar of support, a model of quiet diligence, and a constant source of unconditional love.

He was a devoted husband to Maria, the love of his life and his companion through decades of shared joys, challenges, and dreams. Their love was deep and unassuming, built on trust, mutual respect, and the countless small moments that wove their lives together.

As a father to Dennis and James, and a father-in-law to Vanessa, he led by example, showing them how to be strong with humility, to persevere without complaint, and to love without the need for grand gestures. But one of his greatest joys was being "Papa Nelo" to his grandchildren Emma, Donovan, Jacob, and Sofia. To them, he was a quiet hero, their protector, and the source of a love so pure it will remain in their hearts forever.

Cornelio found happiness in life's simple pleasures: sharing meals with family, working with his hands, and, above all, being present. His calm wisdom, subtle humor, and ability to convey reassurance with just a glance were gifts we all cherished.

Though he is no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on in the lives he helped build and the love he planted in our hearts. Cornelio is survived by his beloved wife Maria, his sons Dennis (and his wife Vanessa) and James, his sister Olga, and his grandchildren Emma, Donovan, Jacob, and Sofia.

"Thank you, Papa Nelo. For your love, your strength, and your beautiful life. We carry you with us, always."
