Obituary

Colleen Nancy Brewer (née McAllister), aged 66, passed away surrounded by family and friends on January 18, 2026, in Palos Hills, Illinois. Colleen was born on September 15, 1959, in Evergreen Park, Illinois, to Richard McAllister and Joan (May) McAllister. She was raised in Hometown, Illinois, one of seven siblings, growing up in a close-knit family that shaped her lifelong sense of loyalty and strength.

Colleen dedicated many years of service to the Chicago Transit Authority, where she built a respected career as an Electrical Maintenance Manager. Her leadership, reliability, and work ethic left a lasting impression on colleagues throughout her career.

Family was the center of Colleen's life. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Megan and Mary, granddaughter Josephine, her aunt Laura May, siblings Patricia McAllister, Maureen McAllister (John Senecal), Stephen McAllister (MaryJo), and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also a dear friend to many, known for her quiet steadiness, humor, and the way people could always count on her. Colleen didn't need to be loud or the center of attention to be strong, her presence spoke for itself.

Colleen was preceded in death by her daughter Stacey Simon, her parents Richard and Joan (May) McAllister, sister Margret Wokoun, brother Richard F. McAllister, and nephews Daniel McAllister, Stephen McAllister, and Shane Wokoun.

A service to honor Colleen's life will be held at Wayside Chapel, 12700 Southwest Hwy, Palos Park, IL 60464, on Saturday, January 24th, 2026 11:00 AM.
