Cheryl Ann
Yourek
May 28, 1956 — Jun 17, 2025
Cheryl Ann Yourek, affectionately known as Cheryl to her friends and family, passed away on June 17, 2025, at the age of 69, in Lombard, Illinois. Born on May 28, 1956, in Evanston, Illinois, Cheryl's life was a testament to the love and joy she spread to those around her.
Cheryl's life was marked by her unwavering dedication to her family. She was a beloved mother to Matthew and his wife Jessica, and a doting grandmother to Blake, Chase, and Hunter. Her role as a sister to Terry, alongside his wife Julie, and to Candy Miller, was filled with laughter, support, and countless cherished memories. She was also a cherished Aunt to Tim Miller, Vicki Miller, Krista Manteufel, Sue Coogan, Erik Miller, Katie Krone, and Ryan Miller. Cheryl's love extended to her great-nieces and great-nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Gladys Miller, who instilled in her the values of kindness and generosity that she carried throughout her life.
Cheryl's interests and passions painted a vibrant picture of her character. Her gratitude for her family was profound, and she often expressed how much she valued the time spent with them. Her siblings, Candy and Terry, and sister-in-law Julie, were not just relatives but pillars in her life. The close-knit bond she shared with her nieces, nephews, and their children was a source of immense pride and happiness.
Beyond her family, Cheryl's life was enriched by the companionship of dear friends with whom she shared many adventures. They were her partners in crime at musical festivals, soaking in the melodies and rhythms that brought so much joy to her life. An avid sports fan, Cheryl's enthusiasm for the Chicago Bears and the Chicago Cubs was infectious. Her love for the game was matched only by her love for the celebrations that accompanied each victory, big or small.
Cheryl's simple pleasures included the delight of birthdays, especially the cake, the relaxation of days off work, and the refreshing taste of a Starbucks Iced Tea. She found joy in the camaraderie and excitement of Schaumburg Boomers games, where her laughter was a familiar echo.
Those who knew Cheryl would describe her as loving, generous, and selfless. Her actions were guided by an innate desire to put others before herself, and her presence was a comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know her. Cheryl's legacy is one of love and selflessness, and her memory will continue to inspire those she has left behind.
As we bid farewell to Cheryl Ann Yourek, we celebrate a life lived with an open heart and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones. Her memory will be cherished and her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Though she may be gone from our sight, the essence of who she was—a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend—remains with us, guiding us like a beacon of her enduring love.
