In Loving Memory of Chenelle Jose Romano

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Chenelle Jose Romano (nee Garcia) a woman of unwavering spirit and boundless love on March 6, 2025 at the age of 50.

Chenelle had a 30-year career at Ameristar Casino Hotel, and quickly became known for her dedication, skill, and relentless commitment to excellence. She had a shorter career at U-LINE however, throughout her career, Chenelle earned the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients, making lifelong friends in the process.

Outside of work, Chenelle was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She shared a loving home with her husband Terry. She was the beloved mother to Desarae Garcia-Azcona (Frank), Brandon Garcia, Jazmine Garcia and stepmother to Gia Romano. Loving grandmother to Frankie Jr., who she adored spending time with. Loving sister to Cheryl Connors (Michael). Beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews. Chenelle's family was her pride and joy, and she cherished every moment spent together with them.

Preceded in death by her parents, Milagros and Francis Conn III, and her brother Scott Conn.

It would be remiss to not acknowledge Chenelle's love of animals. She adored her three dogs, Piper, Ranger and Roxie (a sweet rescue). They brought her great comfort and joy. She was always with them and spent endless hours soaking up the sun in their beautiful yard.

Those who knew Chenelle will remember her for her warmth, sense of humor, and intelligence. She had the unique ability to put you at ease and make you feel like she knew you forever, which endeared her to friends and strangers alike. Chenelle was a beautiful person inside and out. She was so genuine and had such a generous spirit. Her presence brought light and joy to every gathering, and her absence will be profoundly felt.

A memorial service will be held on March 29, 2025, at St. Edna's Catholic Church, 2525 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights IL 60004. Visitation will be held 9:30-10:30 am, and Mass at 10:30. Family and friends will gather to celebrate Chenelle's life and share their favorite memories. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, a cause close to the family's heart.

As we mourn the loss of Chenelle, we also celebrate the remarkable life she lived – a life marked by love, dedication, and generosity. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rest in peace, Chenelle. You will always hold a special place in our hearts.--
