Today, we celebrate the life of a beloved member of our family, Carlton McQuay, who passed away on March 5th, 2024 in his hometown of Chicago due to heart disease. Born September 19th, 1951, Carlton, affectionately called Pumk by his brother, Marvin.
His father, Carl McQuay, Sr., deceased and his mother, Eartha Marie Embry. His brothers, Marvin McQuay, (Linda), Ronnie Sherman, (Lisa), both deceased, Carl McQuay, Jr, Henri' McQuay, (Tonya). Sisters: Donna McQuay, JoAnn McCaskill. Nephews: LeRoy Wiggins, Jr., (Jasmine), Jeremy McCaskill, (Amora), Reggie McQuay. Nieces: Naomi Wiggins-Balcon, (Ralpheal), Tiffany Walker and a host of grand-nieces and grand-nephews and friends.
Graduated from Marshall High School and graduated from Roosevelt University.
Carlton worked for over 30 yrs at Rush Presbyterian Hospital and retired from there.
He had a love and passion for old-time records and he was a collector as well.
Carlton was also a reader of the Bible and his favorite scripture was Revelation 21:4 where it says: He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore! The former things have passed away.
Carlton was a gentle soul with a firm belief in the Bible.
His memory will live on and now he's n Jehovah's memory until He brings him back!
