Bobbie J. Carter, 79, of Elgin, IL, died at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, IL on January

27, 2025.

Bobbie was born in Crawfordsville, AR in 1945 to Thomas and Bessie Carter. She had been an

Elgin-area resident since 1958. The majority of Bobbie's elementary school education was

gained in the public schools of Memphis, TN. She completed her education at Ellis Junior High,

Kimball Junior High and was an alum of Larkin High School's Class of 1964; she also attended

Elgin Community College before joining the workforce as a secretary. She worked as a secretary

for D. C. Cook Publishing, Church of the Brethren, and Mc-Graw Edison Company, all located

in Elgin, IL. Bobbie was a member of First Baptist Church of Elgin, IL.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Carter, Sr., and Bessie Carter and one

sibling, Thomas Carter, Jr. She is survived by five siblings, Robert (Libby) Carter, James Carter,

Michael Carter, Shirley (Joel) Schmitz and Connie (Edward) Wilson); and a host of nieces and

nephews.

The family will host a memorial celebration of life for Bobbie at a date yet to be determined.
