Obituary

Betty Lou Jarvis, age 80, passed away on November 1, 2020 at her home in Chicago, Illinois.         Betty was born on November 20, 1939, to Marie McGuire in Colp, Illinois.  She leaves to mourn her passing four children to cherish her loving memory, one and only son Delaney Jarvis, her three daughters, Janet Jarvis, Valarie Jarvis, and Latisha Jarvis. Her 17 grandchildren; Brian, Dennis, Marcell, Brandon, Andrea, Marijane, Xena, Carmen, Yana, Stormlina, Amarrion, Mia, Angelina, Damian, Dayiana, Aserah, King, and 7 great grandchildren. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Betty enjoyed going to church, taking walks, getting her hair cut, doing puzzles, arts & crafts, but she loved more than anything spending time with her family.  Her favorite tv shows were, Bonanza, Gun Smoke, Rifle Man, Perry Mason, and Price is Right. Betty's favorite foods were Pasteles, Liver & Onions, Chicken & Dumplings, and Enchiladas. Betty made everyone feel special in their own way. Her heart was always filled with love and care. Betty Jarvis will truly be missed. She always leaned to watch for us Anxious if we were late, In winter by the window, In summer by the gate. And though we mocked her tenderly Who had such foolish care, The long way home would seem more safe because she waited there. Her thoughts were all so full of us, She never could forget, And so I think that where she is, She must be watching yet. Waiting 'til we come home to her Anxious if we are late Watching from Heaven's window Leaning from Heaven's gate. For all the times you gently picked me up, When I fell down, For all the times you tied my shoesAnd tucked me into bed, Or needed something But put me first instead. For everything we shared, The dreams, the laughter, And the tears,I love you with a Special Love that deepens every year. Thank You, we all love you and you will truly be missed.
