Jan 17, 1939 — Nov 20, 2023
Bernice Young – Robinson born January 17th, 1939. Our precious and beloved mother has passed away Monday, November 20th, 2023.
Bernice devoted and gave her life to Jesus Christ at early age and found her home based church at St. Lukes Church of God in Christ where she became a member and joined the choir and sung for the Lord. She graduated from Wendell Phillips High School, worked for the City of Chicago as a youth counselor to help troubled young teens and provided tools and resources to help them choose a better path. She volunteered at Rainbow Operation Push, Campaigned and a delegate for Harold Washington former Mayor City of Chicago, volunteered at Chicago Public Schools and an advocate for Senior Citizens for public housing. She took joy in writing, singing and being around family and friends. As a servant for God, she reflected love, generosity, kindness, well respected and a soldier that stood for what is right. Her love for God gave her a light that shined and reflect a great impact on many that she met throughout her years.
