Benny Yee

Benny Yee, 85, father, grandfather, and husband, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2026. Born on October 22, 1940, in the province of Guangdong, China, he spent most of his years in Chicago, Illinois.

Benny was the beloved son of Wing Shun Yee and Bow Hi Yip Yee.He is survived by his wife, Young, children Monica Jee, Benny (Kelly) Yee, Steven (Cathy) Yee, and Anthony (Carmen) Yee. Loving grandfather to Marcus, Craig, Sofia, Tai, Jack, Liam, Amber, Brendan, and Logan. And also great grandfather to Malakai, Killian, Elliot, and Henry. 

Benny graduated with a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He enjoyed talking about politics, the Chicago Bears, and dim sum, and will be remembered for his fighting spirit, kindness, and humor.

A celebration of life will be held on August 8, 2026, at 2 PM at Monica and Justin's new home. If you'd like to come and share a memory, please reach out for the address.
