Barbara J. King passed away peacefully in Chicago at the age of 93.

Born in Boulder, Colorado, Barbara carried a strong, independent spirit throughout her life. She married Gerald King at 19 and raised her family in Plainfield, creating a home filled with love, care, and lasting memories.

A devoted mother of seven, her family was the heart of her world. In her later years, she found deep joy and companionship in her dogs, whom she loved fiercely and unconditionally.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Patricia "Pat" Pekol. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to the caregivers and medical staff who provided comfort during her final days.
