Arnold Pierre was born in Cap-Haïtien. He was a fisherman. He used his skills as a mariner to bring Haitian immigrants to the United States. Arnold made three such difficult journeys. After the third voyage, his boat was no longer seaworthy. This is how he came to this country in 1981. He worked construction and at a steel mill in the USA.

His greatest joy was praising God.

Arnold's parents were Almaï Pierre and Jesse Jean. He leaves a sister, Véronique, in Miami; two sons, Francisco of Montréal and Islande of Nassau; and many friends in the Haitian community in Chicago.
