Anthony (Tony) John Cronin January 11, 1966 September 19, 2021 Tony was born in Elgin, IL.  He attended Holy Name Cathedral grade school and De La Salle Institute for high school where he played hockey and football. After high school, Tony pursued his passion in hockey. He then went on to culinary school to become a chef that specialized in French fine dining cuisine. He received a degree in restaurant management and later he received a certification in massage therapy. Tony was introduced to hockey by his cousins in grammar school and became passionate with the sport and skated throughout his life. He played competitively in his youth and early 20s and in later years enjoyed being part of a rat hockey team. He also taught and loved coaching mini mites up to squirt levels when he lived in Madison, WI. Tony was an enthusiast of college football as well. His parents had season tickets to the Notre Dame games and he would reminisce about the games that his parents took him to along with his sister and family friends when he was growing up. Tony's parents loved to travel and his favorite trips in his youth were to Ireland, France, and Puerto Rico. Tony married Michele (Shelly) Stashek, 08/98 (divorced in '12). On 12/27/05 they welcomed Grayson Jude Anthony. Grayson and Tony had a special bond. They shared and enjoyed going to museums, zoos, restaurants, swimming, and going to Cubs and Blackhawks games.
