Angela Lizak, affectionately known as Angie, mother of two sons, Darwin Phillips, Jr. and Micahel Phillips (deceased); Darwin Phillips, father of Darwin and Micahel; Jamie Phillips Roberts, loving grandmother of Darwin and Micahel, passed away peacefully in her hometown of Chicago, Illinois, on November 2, 2023. Born on December 28, 1966, to the late Eugene and Genevieve (Galkowski) Lizak, Angie was a cherished member of her family and community. Her life was marked by an unwavering commitment to caring for others, a quality that defined her personally and professionally. Angie was the beloved sister to her three brothers and one sister: Anthony Lizak, Marty Lizak and his wife Michal Komlosh, and their daughter Netta, Mary Anne (Lizak) Sorensen and her husband, Kevin Sorensen, and their two sons, Cody and Kyle, and Joe Lizak and his son, Joey Lizak, Jr. Angie also leaves behind numerous cousins and friends who will miss her dearly. Angie was born in Chicago and attended Oak Park River Forest High School in Oak Park, Illinois. She was known for her kindness and willingness to help others. After high school, she chose a career that would allow her to continue serving her community. Angie spent her professional life as a caregiver, a role she performed with dedication and love. She touched many lives through her work, providing comfort and companionship to those she cared for. Her selfless nature and compassionate spirit made her an invaluable presence in the lives of those she served. Angie enjoyed spending time with her family and friends in her free time. She was known for her warm smile, infectious laugh, and ability to make anyone feel welcome. Her love for her family was evident in everything she did. Angie will be cremated, and a private memorial ceremony with only close family members will be present. In place of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
