Obituary

Andrea Andrade, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, IL, with her family by her side. She was born on February 10, 1936, in Chupícuaro, Michoacán de Ocampo, Mexico. Her life was marked by her faith, generosity, and love for her family.

Andrea was married to her beloved late husband, Santos Andrade, for 38 years until his passing on October 6, 2005. Their partnership was grounded in love, respect, faith, and shared values. Andrea and Santos led a life of hard work, integrity, and generosity. Despite facing early challenges, Andrea was determined to support her husband in creating a better future for their family. With courage and resilience, she immigrated to the United States to join her husband and worked tirelessly to build a life of opportunity and success for her family. Through dedication, she helped her husband bring their three minor children from Mexico and raised them in Pilsen, along with the fourth child she had after immigrating from Mexico. Andrea remained humble and grounded, never forgetting her roots and the values instilled in her.

Andrea enjoyed watching NFL football with her family, celebrating the holidays, going to the mall, shopping at Marshall's, and dining out at Chili's and Mexican restaurants.

Her children survive her: Gabriela, Armando, Apolinar (Angela), and Josefina (Miguel). She was a proud grandmother to Mikayla Morgan (Joshua), Jose Andrade, Izamar Calderon, Marco Andrade, Michael Duarte, Aaron Calderon, and Emilio Arroyo, and a great-grandmother to MacKenzie, Alexandria, Andrea, and Jacqueline. She also leaves four siblings, a host of nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

In her 88 years, Andrea's legacy of love, faith, and generosity will live on through her family and the many lives she touched. Her memory will be cherished by her loved ones, who take comfort in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with her beloved husband, Santos. Santos's life was a testament to the power of love and faith, and his spirit will continue inspiring those fortunate enough to have known him.
