Aidan John Burgess

Aidan John Burgess, born on May 23, 1973, in Chicago, Illinois, passed away on July 19, 2026, in Joliet, Illinois, at the age of 53. His passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of those who knew him.

Aidan was the beloved son of Thomas Burgess and the late Mary (Cotter) Burgess. He is survived by his father’s wife since 2001, Sharon. Aidan shared a close bond with his three brothers: Brendan (Cindy), Kevin (Carol), and Ciaran (Deven). He was also a loving father to his son, Matthew Scheer. His extended family includes numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins both in Ireland and the United States.

Aidan proudly served his country for two years as a member of the United States Army. His time in service reflected his dedication to helping others—a quality that defined much of his life. This same spirit of generosity was evident in his relationships with friends and acquaintances at Hope Manor, where he was known as a helping hand and a steadfast friend.
