Kevin Gunnell was born in Chicago,IL. He attended Medill elementary and later served in the military, for three years. After his honorable discharge, Kevin went home to Chicago. He relocated to Jackson, MS where he worked numerous jobs before settling down in Pearl, MS. In Pearl he worked at YRC for number years. Kevin came back to Chicago to be with family after he fell ill. He leaves to mourn his sister Joanne Warren, a host of Thornton siblings; his sons Kevin Gunnell, Karlos Wright, Nia Rhodes, Shunta Rhodes,Tosha Thomas and Charles Gunnell; ten grandkids and a host of nieces and nephews. Not to mention his many friends and other close relatives. He was preceded in death by his father John Thornton (Chilli), his mother Bobbie Gunnell (Dear), and his three brothers Charles Gunnell, Thaddeus Gunnell and Larry Gunnell.
